Insurance
Can my insurance company force me to use their shop?
No. California law gives you the choice of repairer. A carrier can recommend a direct repair program shop and can decline to pay above a prevailing rate, but the selection is yours.
Full answer on How an RV or Fleet Insurance Claim Actually Runs
Why is the first estimate always low on an RV?
Because it is written from what is visible, and on a laminated wall most of the damage is behind the skin. The number rises as teardown exposes the actual extent, which is why supplements are normal on coach claims.
Full answer on How an RV or Fleet Insurance Claim Actually Runs
Who pays for the teardown if the claim is denied?
You do, at one hour and $210. If the repair is authorized that hour is credited back, so the only scenario where teardown is a net cost is one where you decide not to repair.
Full answer on How an RV or Fleet Insurance Claim Actually Runs
Which single pitfall costs the most on average?
Skipping teardown. It converts every later discovery into an argument with a carrier who has already written a number, and it is the one mistake that compounds through the rest of the claim.
Full answer on Twenty Five Ways RV Owners Lose Money on a Claim
Is pre existing damage always excluded?
Not always, but it is always contested. Documenting it separately before the loss, or at minimum at first inspection, is what keeps new damage from being folded into it.
Full answer on Twenty Five Ways RV Owners Lose Money on a Claim
Should I file a claim for damage under my deductible?
Generally no. If the priced evaluation puts the scope near or under the deductible, paying direct usually costs less than a claim on the record. The evaluation tells you which case you are in.
Full answer on Twenty Five Ways RV Owners Lose Money on a Claim
How long do I have to file an RV claim?
Policies set their own notice window and it varies, but the practical answer is immediately. Delay makes cause harder to establish and gives the carrier a reason to question post loss damage.
Full answer on Filing an RV or Fleet Claim: What to Have Ready First
Do I need a police report for an RV collision?
For a collision involving another party, yes, get one. For a stationary loss such as a fallen branch or a storage lot impact, photographs and a same day written description carry the file.
Full answer on Filing an RV or Fleet Claim: What to Have Ready First
Can I start repairs before the adjuster sees it?
Do not. Start the priced teardown, which documents rather than repairs, and let the adjuster inspect the exposed structure. Repairing first forfeits the evidence.
Full answer on Filing an RV or Fleet Claim: What to Have Ready First
What if my carrier is not on the list?
The list covers the carriers seen most often, not the only ones billed. Bring the claim in and the shop will bill whoever is writing it.
Does a direct repair relationship mean the carrier controls the repair?
No. It streamlines paperwork and approvals. Scope decisions are still made against what the vehicle actually needs, and you still choose the shop.
Who settles the deductible on a direct billed job?
You do, at pickup, along with any declined line items you chose to have repaired. The carrier pays the balance of the approved scope.
Does panel replacement always cost more than a rebond?
Usually, but not always, and not always by much. A large multi injection rebond with a long cure sequence can approach a panel replacement in labor, and the replacement lasts longer. The measured released area decides it.
Full answer on Repair or Replace: Where the Threshold Actually Sits
Can I just have the visible damage repaired to save money?
You can, and on a released laminate it typically fails again within a season or two as the moisture path continues. The shop will state plainly when that is the case.
Full answer on Repair or Replace: Where the Threshold Actually Sits
Who decides, me or the shop?
You authorize. The shop documents the structural condition and states which side of the threshold it falls on, with the measurement behind it, so the decision is yours on real information.
Full answer on Repair or Replace: Where the Threshold Actually Sits
What ratio of value makes a carrier total a coach?
It varies by carrier and by state rather than being a single fixed number, and the calculation includes salvage value rather than repair cost alone. Ask your adjuster for the specific threshold applied to your file.
Full answer on When an RV Gets Totaled and When It Comes Back
Can I keep the RV if it is declared a total loss?
Usually yes, through a retained salvage settlement where the carrier pays the value less what the salvage is worth. The title changes status, which affects resale and future insurability.
Full answer on When an RV Gets Totaled and When It Comes Back
Does a total loss on a coach affect my other policies?
It goes on your claim history like any other loss. Whether it affects other lines depends on the carrier and the cause, and that is a question for your agent rather than the shop.
Full answer on When an RV Gets Totaled and When It Comes Back
Do I pay the deposit if insurance is covering the repair?
On a carrier billed job the deposit structure is generally handled against the carrier authorization rather than your card. Your out of pocket remains the deductible and any declined items.
Full answer on Deductibles and What You Actually Pay Out of Pocket
Is the evaluation fee refunded if I do not repair?
No. It is credited against an authorized repair, which means it comes off the invoice if you proceed. If you decide not to repair, the evaluation stands as a priced service you received.
Full answer on Deductibles and What You Actually Pay Out of Pocket
Why does paying by card carry a surcharge here?
Merchant fees on a five figure repair are real money. The surcharge over $1,000 passes that cost to the transaction that creates it instead of raising the posted labor rate for everyone.
Full answer on Deductibles and What You Actually Pay Out of Pocket
How many supplements is too many on one claim?
There is no fixed limit, and on a heavy coach repair three or four is unremarkable. What matters is that each one is documented at the time the condition is exposed rather than batched at the end.
Full answer on Supplements, Denials, and How Line Items Get Reinstated
Does a supplement delay the repair?
Approval takes time, but the work that is already authorized continues while a supplement is pending. Parts on supplemented items are what actually drive the calendar.
Full answer on Supplements, Denials, and How Line Items Get Reinstated
Can I appeal a denial myself?
Yes, and it helps when the shop supplies the photographs and measurements to appeal with. The technical documentation is what moves a denial, not the volume of calls.

Pricing
Are OCRV Center labor rates negotiable on retail work?
The posted rates are the rates. What is adjustable is scope: an owner paying direct can stage a large job across phases so the spend is spread, and the shop will sequence it so that structural and moisture work still closes out first.
Why is mechanical labor more per hour than body labor?
Different technicians, different tooling and different liability. House and chassis systems work carries diagnostic depth and certification requirements that panel work does not.
Does the detail rate apply to paint correction after a refinish?
Correction that is part of delivering a refinish is inside the paint scope. Standalone correction, polish or preparation booked on its own bills at the $95 detail rate.
Can I supply my own parts to reduce the bill?
Owner supplied parts are handled case by case and the answer is often no. The shop cannot stand behind a part it did not source, and a failed owner supplied part turns into re done labor that somebody has to pay for twice.
Why is the special order deposit non refundable?
Because most coach specific parts are non returnable to the supplier once ordered against a VIN and floor plan. The deposit matches the shop's actual exposure rather than adding margin.
Is the hazmat charge applied to every job?
No. It applies when the work involves chemicals, refrigerant or LP that require regulated disposal. A panel repair with no such materials does not carry it.
Is any evaluation here ever unpriced?
No. Every evaluation carries a published price, and every one is credited against an authorized repair. That policy is deliberate and it is applied consistently.
Full answer on Every Estimate Is Priced, and Every One Is Credited
What if the evaluation shows the damage is under my deductible?
Then you have a priced scope and a real number to decide against, which is usually worth more than the evaluation cost. Many owners pay direct at that point rather than putting a claim on the record.
Full answer on Every Estimate Is Priced, and Every One Is Credited
Can I get the evaluation without committing to repair?
Yes. It is a priced service you receive. If you choose not to proceed, the documentation is still yours to take to a carrier or another shop.
Full answer on Every Estimate Is Priced, and Every One Is Credited
Can I pay a large balance by card and avoid the surcharge?
The surcharge applies to card payments over $1,000 regardless of how the balance is split. Check and cash carry no surcharge.
Full answer on Deposits, Payment Terms and the Card Surcharge
What happens to my deposit if I cancel after authorization?
Labor already performed and materials already consumed are billed against it, and the remainder is returned. Special order parts deposits are non refundable because the parts cannot go back.
Full answer on Deposits, Payment Terms and the Card Surcharge
Is storage charged if I leave the vehicle after completion?
Talk to the shop directly about extended storage. The facility is a working body shop rather than a lot, and bay space that is occupied by a finished vehicle is bay space not repairing the next one.
Full answer on Deposits, Payment Terms and the Card Surcharge
Why does a small RV dent cost more than a car dent?
Access and material. A coach panel is a bonded laminate rather than a stamped steel skin, so there is no pushing it back out from behind, and reaching the back of it frequently means opening the interior liner.
Is a Class A more expensive to repair than a Class C?
Usually, on the same damage, because the panels are larger and the cap moldings are more expensive. But a Class C cab over joint failure is its own expensive problem that a Class A does not have.
Does an older coach cost less to repair?
No, and frequently more, because parts availability drives the calendar and discontinued moldings have to be fabricated. Age lowers the vehicle value without lowering the repair cost, which is what makes older coaches total early.
Is a travel trailer cheaper to repair than a fifth wheel?
On skin and floor work, usually yes, because the panels are smaller and the walls are lower. On front cap work the fifth wheel is dramatically more expensive because the cap is larger and more complex.
Can a rotted trailer floor be patched rather than replaced?
Sometimes, when the rot is contained and the frame under it is sound. The evaluation measures the extent, and a patch over spreading rot is a repair you pay for twice.
Do toy hauler ramp doors get repaired or replaced?
Both happen. Cables, springs and seals are routine repairs at $400 to $5,500. A twisted ramp frame or a torn rear wall around it moves into structural work.
Why is van collision work cheaper at the low end than RV work?
Because a small van panel is a stamped steel section that can be repaired conventionally, where the equivalent coach panel is a bonded laminate. The high end converges once structure is involved.
Does a camper van conversion affect collision repair cost?
Yes, substantially. A build adds removal and reinstallation labor to reach the panel, and cabinetry fitted to a wall that has to move is labor on both ends.
Can rust on a Sprinter rocker be treated rather than cut?
Surface corrosion, yes, at $400 to $3,500. Perforation, no. Once it is through, treating it seals the appearance and leaves the structural loss in place.
Are these truck and fleet bands discounted for volume?
No. The shop performs body, paint, structural and equipment work on fleet vehicles job by job at the published rates. It does not run fleet consulting, driver training or telematics programs either.
Full answer on Commercial Truck and Fleet Repair Price Bands
How many fleet units can be in the shop at once?
It depends on the mix of work and the bay space each unit needs. The practical answer comes from scheduling the sequence, which is done up front so a fleet manager knows the cycle before the first unit arrives.
Full answer on Commercial Truck and Fleet Repair Price Bands
Does the marking price include any regulatory sign off?
No. The band covers applying reflective marking to the specification you supply. It does not include DOT inspection and it does not include DOT certification, both of which happen elsewhere.

Inside the Shop
Is OCRV Center located in Whittier, California?
No. The facility is in Yorba Linda at 23281 La Palma Ave, about twenty minutes east of Whittier. Whittier is the market this shop serves, and the drive is one freeway for most of the city.
Full answer on Whittier, Los Angeles County, and the Run Down the I-605
What is the fastest route from Whittier towing a fifth wheel?
I-605 south to SR-91 east, then surface streets. Avoid the Whittier Boulevard surface route with anything long, because several turns on it are tight with a trailer behind you.
Full answer on Whittier, Los Angeles County, and the Run Down the I-605
Does OCRV Center come to Whittier to look at a vehicle?
No. There is no mobile service, no roadside work and no on site evaluation. Every vehicle is evaluated and repaired in shop at the Yorba Linda facility.
Full answer on Whittier, Los Angeles County, and the Run Down the I-605
Why do Whittier Hills coaches need roof work more often?
Tree cover. Branch impact and organic debris sitting on a membrane shorten the recoat and reseal interval compared with a coach stored in the open, which is a storage condition rather than a product defect.
Full answer on Whittier, Los Angeles County, and the Run Down the I-605
How long does a typical RV repair take at OCRV Center?
Parts availability drives the calendar more than labor does. A slide seal replacement is days, a cap replacement with a discontinued molding can be months waiting on fabrication. The scope states the labor hours and the parts lead time separately.
Full answer on How a Repair Actually Runs Here, Start to Finish
Can I visit the shop while my coach is being worked on?
Call ahead. It is an active body shop with paint operations and moving equipment, so access to the work areas is arranged rather than open, but owners are welcome to see their vehicle.
Full answer on How a Repair Actually Runs Here, Start to Finish
What happens if the scope changes mid job?
It gets documented and submitted as a supplement before the work is performed, not after. You approve the change the same way you approved the original scope.
Full answer on How a Repair Actually Runs Here, Start to Finish
Will this shop take manufacturer program repairs?
No. The shop performs collision, body, paint, structural and onboard systems repair, billed to you or to a carrier. Manufacturer program work is outside what it takes on, and the scope boundary page states the full list of what is declined.
Full answer on What This Shop Does Differently, Stated Plainly
Why publish rates when most shops do not?
Because an owner mid claim is trying to decide something, and a rate card is the fastest way to let them decide. It also means the number on the invoice is the number that was published, which removes an entire category of argument.
Full answer on What This Shop Does Differently, Stated Plainly
Is a bigger facility actually better for RV work?
Bay depth and booth size are not a marketing claim on a 45 foot coach, they are the difference between the work being possible and not. The OCRV Center facility runs 35,000 square feet for exactly that reason.
Full answer on What This Shop Does Differently, Stated Plainly
Can I ask for a specific technician?
Work is assigned by department and by what the vehicle needs. The service desk routes it, which keeps the structural calls consistent regardless of who is on the floor that week.
Are technicians certified?
The shop holds the BAR and EPA registrations shown in the site footer. Departmental training is ongoing across collision, refinish and systems work.
Who do I talk to about a claim?
The service desk. It handles carrier communication and supplements directly, which is faster than routing technical line items through the owner.
Will OCRV Center document my repair with photographs?
Yes, as a matter of course. Arrival, teardown, structural stage and completion are documented on every job, and the images are available to you.
Full answer on Before and After, and What the Photographs Do Not Show
Can I see examples of previous repairs?
Ask at the service desk. What is genuinely useful is seeing a teardown series on damage similar to yours rather than a gallery of finished paint.
Full answer on Before and After, and What the Photographs Do Not Show
Do photographs help with a supplement?
They are usually what carries it. A line item without a photograph of the condition it addresses gets declined by default, and a measured photograph is what reverses that.
Full answer on Before and After, and What the Photographs Do Not Show
Are bundles discounted below the published rates?
No. The rates are the rates. The saving is real but it comes from shared access: the second job does not pay for the teardown and reassembly a second time.
Can I add work after the job has started?
Yes, and while the vehicle is open is exactly when it is cheapest. It gets documented and authorized as a scope change before the work happens.
Do bundles apply to insurance billed work?
Insurance pays for the covered loss. Owner elected work added while the vehicle is open is billed to you separately, and that is frequently the most cost effective time to do it.
24 questions
Who We Help
Can OCRV Center finish a conversion I started myself?
Yes, and it is common. The evaluation states plainly what has to come back out before anything new goes in, which on a partly finished build is usually the roof penetrations and any wiring that will not carry its specified load.
Full answer on For Camper Van Owners: What Actually Goes Wrong
Does a camper van conversion void collision coverage?
That is a policy question for your carrier rather than a shop question. What is true is that a build adds real removal and reinstallation labor to any collision repair, and your declared value should reflect the build.
Full answer on For Camper Van Owners: What Actually Goes Wrong
How much does a full camper van buildout cost?
Between $5,000 and $80,000 across 40 to 400 hours. That is the widest band on the rate card and it is honest: a bed platform and a window is a different project from a four season build with lithium, solar and hydronic heat.
Full answer on For Camper Van Owners: What Actually Goes Wrong
How often does a coach roof need resealing in this climate?
Annually for inspection and as needed for recoat, and shorter than that for a coach stored under tree cover. Sealant fails on a schedule set by sun and debris rather than by mileage.
Will a carrier pay for delamination on a coach?
If it results from a covered loss such as an impact, generally yes. Delamination from age, a failed seal or deferred maintenance is usually owner pay. The evaluation tells you which case you have before you file.
Should I repair a coach the carrier wants to total?
Price it before deciding. A retained salvage settlement on a structurally sound coach with cosmetic damage is sometimes the better outcome, and it is worth a priced evaluation to find out.
Can a fifth wheel front cap be repaired instead of replaced?
Gelcoat cracks and impact fractures in the molded surface, yes, at $750 to $12,000. A released bond in the cap radius, no. That threshold is structural and it is measured at evaluation.
Why does my fifth wheel bedroom floor feel soft?
Most often water that entered at the front cap seam and ran behind the cap radius. The stain and the entry point are rarely in the same place, which is why the evaluation maps the whole run.
Do half ton towable fifth wheels have more delamination?
They show it earlier. Lighter construction means thinner laminate, and thinner laminate releases sooner under the same moisture exposure.
Can I live in the coach while it sits in the shop?
Not on the property. It is an active body shop with paint operations and moving equipment, so overnight occupancy is not something the facility can accommodate.
How do I plan repairs when the RV is my home?
Book the evaluation first and get the scope and parts lead time in writing before committing to dates. Parts availability drives the calendar far more than labor does, and knowing that up front is what makes the displacement plannable.
Which systems should a full timer service preventively?
Slides, water pump, house batteries and roof seals. Those four carry the highest cycle count on a full time coach and they are the ones that strand you when they fail.
Can a fleet put this shop on a standing maintenance agreement?
No. Work is performed job by job on body, paint, structural and equipment scopes. There is no maintenance contract, no consulting engagement and no driver program attached to it.
Can a whole livery be rebranded at once?
It is quoted per unit and sequenced so the fleet keeps operating. Doing an entire livery simultaneously would mean the fleet stops, which is almost never what a manager actually wants.
Does applying reflective marking amount to a federal certification?
No. The shop applies reflective marking to whatever specification the fleet supplies. It does not perform DOT inspection and it does not issue any DOT certification.
Can you repair a delivery van without taking it off route for a week?
Most door, shelving and panel work is days rather than weeks. Structural sectioning is longer. The evaluation states the labor hours and the parts lead time separately so the route can be planned against real numbers.
Are battery electric delivery vans handled here?
Yes. BrightDrop, eTransit, Rivian and similar units are handled with the high voltage pack isolated before any body work starts. Bonded structure is sectioned only where the manufacturer publishes a procedure.
Can shelving be reinstalled after body repair?
Yes, and it is usually the cheapest moment to upgrade or reconfigure it, because the removal labor is already being spent.
How fast can a food truck be turned around?
Body and service window work is typically days. Anything structural or involving a discontinued part depends on parts lead time, which the evaluation states separately from labor hours.
Will the interior equipment be disturbed?
Only where the repair requires it, and that is stated before you authorize. Equipment bays stay sealed by default.
Does the livery go back on after panel work?
Yes. Factory style graphics are reproduced and reapplied, and a full wrap is refitted over the corrected substrate.
Can OCRV Center work under a public agency purchase order?
Bring the procurement requirements to intake and the service desk will work through them. Payment terms on the published rate card are the starting point rather than the final word on an agency engagement.
Do you certify emergency lighting installations?
No. The shop installs to the specification the department supplies. Certification and inspection sit with the agency or with a certifying body, not with the repairer.
Is corroded structure always replaced on a municipal unit?
On anything structural, yes. A filled and painted rocker meets a cosmetic standard and fails a service life standard, and public agency vehicles are bought against the second one.

How does delamination differ from a soft spot?
Delamination is the bond releasing between skin and core, felt as a bulge or a hollow sound. A soft spot is usually the subfloor or the luan backer having taken water and lost structure. They often occur together and they are repaired differently.
Full answer on Glossary: The Vocabulary This Shop Actually Uses
What does released area mean on an estimate?
The measured square footage over which the adhesive bond has failed. It is the number that decides repair against replacement, and it should be measured at evaluation rather than estimated from the visible bulge.
Full answer on Glossary: The Vocabulary This Shop Actually Uses
Is filon the same as fiberglass?
Filon is a fiberglass reinforced panel used as a thin exterior skin. A molded cap is a much thicker fiberglass moulding. They behave differently under both impact and delamination, which is why they are named separately here.

Is the Insurance Awareness Booklet really free?
Yes. It is the single allowlisted exception on a site where every evaluation and every service is priced. Information is worth giving away, work is not.
Full answer on The Insurance Awareness Booklet, and Why It Is Free
Do I have to repair here to get the booklet?
No. Ask at the desk or call and it is yours. An owner who makes better claim decisions is a better outcome whether or not the repair happens here.
Full answer on The Insurance Awareness Booklet, and Why It Is Free
Does it cover commercial vehicle claims as well as RV?
It covers both, though the emphasis is on RV and coach work because that is where the initial estimate and the true scope diverge most sharply.
Full answer on The Insurance Awareness Booklet, and Why It Is Free
Can I find an RV leak myself with a hose?
A hose test can confirm an entry point you already suspect. It is poor at finding one you have not, because the path inside the wall is not visible and water can travel several feet before it appears.
Full answer on How to Read a Water Path Before It Costs You a Subfloor
How urgent is a small water stain in an RV ceiling?
Urgent. By the time it is visible inside, the path has usually been running for a while and the luan behind it is already taking damage. Roof reseal at $750 to $4,500 is dramatically cheaper than subfloor work at $750 to $15,000.
Full answer on How to Read a Water Path Before It Costs You a Subfloor
Does an electrical fault really indicate water?
On a van or a fleet body, frequently yes. The harness raceway sits in the path, so a fault code can be the first symptom of a roof penetration that has been leaking for months.

Media
Why does this site not show a review score?
Because a score published by the business being reviewed is worth very little, and a live profile is one click away in the footer. The star row in the footer links straight to the Google profile.
Full answer on Reputation, and Where to Go Check It Yourself
Where can I read reviews of OCRV Center?
The Google Business profile and Yelp, both linked in the site footer. Read across the range rather than only the top reviews.
Full answer on Reputation, and Where to Go Check It Yourself
Can I speak to a previous customer?
Ask the service desk. What is usually more useful is asking to see the teardown and repair documentation from a comparable job, which shows the standard of work directly.

Does OCRV Center post repair videos?
Yes, on YouTube, weighted toward teardown and structural sequences rather than finished walkarounds. The teardown is where a repair is either real or not.

Can I request my repair be documented publicly?
Ask at intake. Nothing is posted without the owner agreeing to it, and plenty of owners prefer their coach not appear anywhere.

Legal
Does OCRV Center sell customer information?
No. Information submitted here is used to respond to you, to price the work, and where applicable to bill an insurance carrier direct. It is not sold and it is not shared for third party marketing.
How do I request deletion of my information?
Write to info@ocrvcenter.com or call (949) 799-3387. Requests are honoured except where a record must be retained for an active repair, an open claim or a legal obligation.
How long is quote request information retained?
For as long as the request is active and for the period afterward required by accounting and legal obligations. Records tied to a completed repair are retained as part of the repair history.
Is a price band on this site a quote?
No. Bands are working ranges for a scope, published so you can plan. The binding number is the written scope produced after a priced evaluation of your vehicle.
Can the published rates change?
Yes. The terms that apply to your job are the ones in effect when you authorize it, and the written scope states them.
What if I disagree with the final invoice?
Raise it with the service desk before pickup. The scope is written against published rate card figures precisely so that each line is checkable rather than a matter of opinion.
What accessibility standard does this site target?
WCAG 2.2 Level AA, with contrast verified by an automated gate on every build and tap targets held to 44 by 44 pixels rather than the 24 pixel minimum.
Full answer on Accessibility: What Is Built In and What Is Not
Is there a dark mode?
No, deliberately. One palette means one set of contrast pairs to verify rather than two, and the light palette is the one that is tested on every build.
Full answer on Accessibility: What Is Built In and What Is Not
Does the site work without JavaScript?
Reading and navigation do. FAQs use native details elements and every page is statically rendered, so content is present in the HTML rather than assembled in the browser.
Full answer on Accessibility: What Is Built In and What Is Not
Where is the XML sitemap?
At /sitemap.xml, which is also declared in /robots.txt. This page is the human readable equivalent.
Is there a machine readable index for AI agents?
Yes, at /llms.txt, with the expanded version at /llms-full.txt. Every page also has a markdown mirror under /md.
